What are emotions of Players when they get their debut Cap ?

When do players get to know when they’re dropped or are playing the next cricket game? What emotions do players face on their Debut match?

Whether it’s an International fixture, an IPL game, or a domestic challenge – in a cricketers life, every game holds its level of importance.

We caught up with Sam Kachru (Cricket Expert & Online Cricket Mentor) in an exclusive interview for Cross Border Cricket. This time to talk about “what do players feel about finding out last minute that they’re going to play.”

Sam was asked about when he interviewed Deep Dasgupta about his first commentary stint & his experience of being “suddenly” selected to play for India.

Here you can check out Deep Das Gupta’s reaction when he got his Debut Cap:

Sam also talks about the times when he spoke with Owais Shah (Ex England Cricketer). But, Sam talks about the fact that all players face various emotions on making their debut at any level. It is a combination of relief, excitement, nervousness, anxiety & performance pressure.

Sam (Cricket Expert & Online Cricket Mentor) has worked with over 5,000 students over the past many years. He claims to have seen all emotions and then successes and failures. He has figured out what is a “champion mindset” and why some players did well to kick start their career, and some took time to make it. For those who made it – there was a formula that worked. For others, they were many intangible reasons that came to the fore eventually. The bottom line, he says you can’t hide talent, and you can’t expect someone to achieve more than their ability.
